Length: 13.3 km
Experience a longer hike through the open countryside towards Fastrup with magnificent views of Tjele Langsø and a trip out onto the lake bridge. The route takes you along peaceful field roads, past small local attractions and back to Vammen along winding gravel roads and rural paths.
Walk along the camping road and keep right at the Y-junction. In Vammen, turn right onto Hobrovej and then immediately left down the gravel road past the Scout House.
Follow the blue route to the right – until you see an information board – at the farm Rishøjgård, Hobrovej 49, and the house, Hobrovej 51. Turn right on the yellow route and head towards Hobrovej. Cross this and keep left around the farm Hobrovej 40. Follow the yellow route that turns right immediately after the farm – at the sign 42-44 and follow the yellow route to Fastrup. Along the way you have a beautiful view of Tjele Langsø. In Fastrup, turn right and all the way to the bridge at Tjele Langsø.
Go straight back along Fastupvej until it ends in Hobrovej.
Turn right and walk along Hobrovej – the orange marked route – until you see an old red brick transformer station on your right (now selling locally grown potatoes) and the blue sign 67 – 71 on your left. Here you turn left (north) along the gravel road towards 67 – 71.
Follow the orange route all the way to Nørregade in Vammen.
At Nørregade, turn left and follow the road to the intersection at the grocery store, where you turn left onto Hobrovej and shortly after turn right onto Langsøvej back to the campsite.
